Hey Guys,
I used one of the backgrounds I did yesterday. I made it by putting Distress Inks onto my X-Cut Glass Cutting Mat and used a mister to spray water on them. I used a small and cheap Paintbrush from Ikea I put color on the brush and added thin stripes to the the rough side of the water color card. In my opinion using the rough side gives texture to the background.
I made the sentiment by using white card and used gold embossing powder. I rounded the right side corners using Fiskar's corner cutter and Gold Encore Ink Pad on the edges. I put it all together using foam squares and a yellow card as my base.
This technique is nice to use for a simple card when there's no time for a lot of work. It's easy to make a bunch of these cards at the same time if you need a couple for party invitations or a holiday card when you have little time. Use different colors to get a different look - blue and purple for a sophisticated look or pink for a girly card or blue or green for a more masculine card. A simple sentiment is needed and there is no need to other embellishments as the stripes give enough content to the card.
Thank you for visiting my Blog today I hope you like the card.
