Welcome to my Blog. After making a cheerful card yesterday I decided to carry on with the theme and make an Easter card.
For the background I used Scattered Straw Distress Ink and put the ink pad straight on the paper. I feel you get a lot more color and coverage that way. When the ink had dried I got a glass of water and dipped my fingers in and using a flicking motion added the water to the card and let it dry for a second time.
While I had my Distress Inks out I decided to have a play while the card was drying. I used many different colors and some different techniques to make other backgrounds. I will make them into cards and share them with you when they're made.
Using Critters on the Farm stamp set from Lawn Fawn I stamped many chicks and eggs among other images. I colored them in using Letreset Promarker Pens. I colored the eggs all a different bright color to get the spring feel.
After cutting them out I used a black pen around all the edges to give them a finished look and for the white of the card not to show through.
The background wasn't quite dry when I went back to it so I used my heat tool to dry it out. I had to bend it back into shape as the card warps very easily. Using dimesional foam squares I stuck all my images to the background. I used a pale yellow Promarker and added shadows underneath the chicks and eggs.
For the sentiment I used some left over white card and used a dark green gel pen wrote Happy Easter. I cut the end into a ribbon end and used Shabby Shutters Distress Ink around the edges to soften it against the card.
I chose a green card stock to use as the card base and put it all together. There were so much on the card already I did not add any finishing touches as it would crowd the card too much.
