More Stamp Shopping

Hello Fellow Stampers,
Welcome to my blog today. I Know as soon as you guys see what stamps I've bought this time you'll probably think I'm bonkers.

This time the majority of the stamps are Christmas stamps. I Know it's only July but I would rather get them now than them be sold out in the winter, like they were last year and that was so disappointing.

I haven't started making Christmas cards yet but I have started to buy presents for my nieces and nephew. I hate the rush around December. Last year one of my gifts from Dave didn't come until January. This year will be more hectic because most people do all their shopping on the internet these days. So Shop for your families early this year. At least now when I get that Christmas card making feeling I can just get on with it without having to wait for the stamps to turn up.

These stamps are so cute and I can already see what type of cards I will make out of them. The Papersmooches stamp set is Swanky Snowdudes. very cute for boy cards. Newton's Nook stamp set is Frozen friends another cute stamp set.

I bought some stamp sets from Lawn Fawn with adult cards in Mind. Like the Ornate Ornaments. will look great some glossy accents. Let it snow will look fab with different colour green ink pads and a little embossing powder brilliant for making a winter scene.  Bows and Holly will make cute cards to give to people from work they will quick cards to whip up fast.

The other stamp set I got were cute stamp set with children or small cute cards in mind. Cosy Christmas stamp set will make any child excited for Christmas. Build a Snowman would be fun to make and look cute for children too. I can't wait to have a play with these guys. The smaller stamp sets like Yeti Set Go and Winter Owl will make cute small cards and the winter in the park will make an awesome silhouette card with lots of glitter and embossing powder.

I haven't totally lost my head I did buy two other stamp sets which had nothing to do with Christmas at all. They are Critters in the Forest and Critters in the Burbs. They are the two critters stamp set from Lawn Fawn that are always out of stock so I grabbed them while they were there. I think I have all the critters stamp sets now and I love using them all.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. please feel free leave a comment below. I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

First Night Apart

Hey everyone,
This isn't a post on card making at all. This is going to be the first night me and Dave will spend apart from each other. We've been together for four years and not once spent the night away from each other.
He's going to his brother's for the night because they're both going to Silverstone racetrack because some formula 1 cars are testing there. He loves f1 and couldn't go last weekend.
I'm dreading being alone at night not because I'm scared its just that he's always there. He he I do sound silly.
Do any of you have a similar story? How do you feel when you and your partner are apart for a night?
Please leave a comment. I'd love to hear some of your stories
Thank you for visiting my blog today.

My Crafting Corner - Tour

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I am delighted to say that I have finally found the time to share my crafting space with you guys.

I am so happier in my own corner than on the table in the living room. Having your own space is so much better than dragging out your supplies, filling the table and then having to put it all away again. Now I have my own space I find card making so much easier and even more fun. I don't feel the dread of pulling out my drawers and rummaging through boxes anymore.

I got my desk from Ikea for £30. It's just big enough for me and was cheap too. When you're on a budget good quality and low prices are a must. You can never go wrong with Ikea and a boyfriend to help put it together for you. Thank You Dave xx. On my desk is a X-cut glass cutting mat, my storage pots, my Sizzix big shot machine and some A4 plastic boxes. which I use to store cards I've made and other bits.

The colour drawers I got a while ago in Hobby Craft when they were on offer. It costs £49.00 now but are worth it if your short on space. They're brilliant I love the rainbow colours as it brightens up the room. I keep most of my supplies in these drawers.

My Letreset Promarkers storage is brilliant. I got the idea off the Internet from a blogger at Paulaholifieldscrafts it wasn't thought of from her she got the idea from Camilla from Norway. I have two DVD racks with empty DVD cases I got from E-bay. I used the colour chart on the back of the Promarker set to put the colours in the right order on a spread sheet. It took a few tries to get the measurements right but I got there in the end. I also coloured and put the name of every pen on the spread sheet and it makes it so much easier to see the colours.
I also bought some circle stickers and coloured them in and stuck them to the end of the pen makes it even easier to see where the pens belong and to choose a colour from the rack. This storage solution is amazing and whoever thought of it first is a genius. I love that you can see all the colours in front of you and its so easy to see which colours go with which for blending techniques. I used to keep them in clear boxes and it was a pain trying to find the right colour I wanted

I used up the DVD for my other inks. My distress ink collection seems to be growing almost as fast as my stamp collection. I have labelled some of them but not all yet to make it easier to find on the shelf. My ink pads are all stored upside down. I remember reading somewhere that it prolongs the life of the pad. I have my blending tools and foam underneath. On top of the DVD rack I decided to keep my glossy accents, stickles and other ink pads.

On the wall I have My clear stamp storage. I got this idea off the lovely Britta Swiderski. I love her Blog and she inspires me. If I didn't know about her blog or watched her videos on you tube I probably would have lost interest in card making ages ago. Thanks Britta xx.

The stamps are hung by curtain clips from Ikea and they hang from a towel rail also from Ikea. If you haven't already guessed I had a shopping spree in Ikea. I also bought my Dave a bedside lamp while we were there so he had no excuse for not reading in bed. Trying to get him to read an actual book instead of surfing the net at night is harder than it sounds.

I can finally see how big my card making supplies have got, especially my clear stamps. I thought I would have at least one empty rail to add to. My collection will undoubtedly grow and I shall share more cards with you from my Crafting corner.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Feel free to leave a comment, all are welcome.

Boys Dinosaur Card

Hello Crafting Buddies,

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I have finally got around to making a card out of my new stamps. Today I'm sharing a boys card. Little boys usually go through a phase of Dinosaur Mania. it's when they cant get enough of them and everything has to be dinosaur related.

In respect of that I have made a birthday card of dinosaurs. I used Newton's Nook Prehistoric Pals stamp set. and coloured my images using my Promarker's. I used the lightest shade first over the whole image then go over it with the darker shade, then use the lighter one to help blend it. I usually use only two different colours but with bigger images I use three.

After cutting out my images I went round the outside edge with my Memento duel marker pen to give it a finished look. and there were no white lines showing. I then cut out a strip of green patterned paper and used my tape runner to stick it to the bottom of my card.

I thought the card looked a bit bare with just two dinosaurs on it so I used Lawn Fawn Critters in the forest stamp set and used the tree. I put it behind the blue dinosaur as there was already a green dinosaur and I didn't want it to blend in. I used my tape runner on the tree and stuck it straight on the card. I used foam adhesive on the dinosaurs to make them pop from the card.

For the sentiment I used an old one that I bought when I first started making cards. There's still a lot to use and I'm getting through them slowly.

I used a blending tool and broken china distress ink around the edges of the card to tie everything together as i chose a cream card as my base it looked a little off and the distress ink made it look better.

I really like the way this card turned out. It's a fun boy card and quite easy to make. the only time consuming bit is the colouring and the cutting out. I don't mind those bits anyway.

Please Leave a comment if you like my card (or if you don't as all comments are welcome) I will be happy to hear from you.
