Stamping Shopping Spree

Hello Crafting Buddies,

Welcome to my blog. Today I'm just going to share some news as you know I have recently been made redundant as the shop I was working in was closed down. I went to the job centre on a Monday had an interview on the Thursday and started work on the Friday. I couldn't believe it, everyone says how hard it is get a job and I find one in less than a week. I guess I was just lucky.

I now work in a call centre. I've only been there a week and already I achieved my weekly target. As I did so well I decided to treat myself with a few new stamps. My collection is growing rapidly. I do have a storage idea in mind and when I finally get round to doing it I will share it with you. So here are my stamps.

The Newton's Nook stamp set's I bought are Prehistoric Pals which will be great for boy cards. the other was Boo Crew which is different animals dressed up for Halloween. I decided to buy a few Halloween stamps as I would love to give my nieces and nephews some Halloween cards. It would be a great time to used googly eyes.

I finally bought Lawn Fawn into the woods stamp set. Every time I go onto the website it's always out of stock so I grabbed it when there was only one left in stock. Yay finally. Cant wait to start playing with this one. Waited for so long. I also bought some christmas stamps and these are just cute. The other Lawn Fawn Stamp set I bought were Critters in costume and Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum.

As you know I have fallen head over heels in love with Papersmooches stamp sets they are really cute and have some comic looks to them. Which makes them perfect for male cards as they're not so cute to be feminine. The stamp sets I bought were Great Chemistry, Zoo Crew and Chilly Chums.

Over the next couple of days or weeks I shall be playing with these stamp sets and will definalty share what I create with you.

Thank You so Much for visiting my blog Please leave a comment I'd be happy to hear from you.

Have a fabulous Day

Father's Day Cards

Hello Fellow Crafter's,

Tomorrow is fathers day and I've only just recently made a card for my father and father in law. I simply forgot until I overheard it from someone talking about it. Please tell me I'm not the only one to forget about these things.

As I have not prepared at all I've had to work with the supplies I already have. This is a chance to use up some of the supplies you do not use any more, maybe because you forgot you had them or because you've found an easier or better way to make your cards.

When I first started card making I bought toppers for cards rather than buying stamp sets and Promarkers now I usually use my stamps and colour them in myself. I was in a hurry to whip up two cards in one evening so I used up some of the toppers.

Most people throw out their old supplies or sell them on auction sites. There will be a good place to grab a bargain. Be warned as there may be things in these job lots or crafting clear outs that you may not use, so bid carefully and look at the product descriptions and the photo's. If you're not sure on something ask the seller most of sellers are happy to answer questions.

Now back to the Fathers Day cards. I used some grey Hobbycraft card stock for my base and got out some forever friends toppers. I used Vintage photo distress ink on the edges of the toppers and stuck them to the card using glue dots from Stix2. I wrote the sentiment myself as I had no sentiment that said Happy Fathers Day. I did not feel like fiddling with different stamps to get the sentiment either. I used a gel pen to put dash lines around the card. Then on one card I put little blue gems and on the other I stuck marabou feathers.

Considering I did these in a hurry after work to catch the morning post a day later. I think i did rather well. I'm happy with these cards and love the simplicity of it and the feathers and gems used to jazz it up a little. It doesn't take much to make a plain card look pretty. you just have to be careful not to go overboard.

By the way my boyfriend forgot to post his father's card in the morning so his dad will probably get his on Tuesday.

Thank you so much for visiting today, please feel free to leave a comment I would be very happy to hear from you.

Neutral Baby Card

Welcome To My Blog Today

Sometimes we have no idea what gender the baby we're about to see is or you buy the card before the baby is born to be ready anytime. this is mostly done by people who are busy, busy and more busy.  So therefore you'd be needing a gender neutral card. Using colours suitable for both is crucial cream, white and yellow are usually what are used.

If you haven't got any Stamp Sets for new born babies than don't worry, some stamp sets are so versatile that you don't need to go rushing out to buy a stamp set with new baby on it. I used Lawn Fawn Critters Down under for mine. The kangaroo with a baby in the pouch was perfect for this card. I also stamped two little birds and I coloured my images using Promarkers.

I used some cream card and rounded two corners. I rounded the corners of some holographic card and adhered it to the card stock. For the sentiment I used one of the old sentiments I bought when I first started making cards. I still have loads left over. I used Congratulations so you really don't have to go out and buy new baby Stamps or sentiments. Congratulations can be used in many ways.

Thanks for visiting my blog today please leave a comment below I will be happy to hear from you.

It's a Baby Boy Card

Welcome To My Blog,

Today I made a boy card. It's very rare that I would do a boy card. For a long while girls outnumbered boys. Boys have evened things out now though. I have 5 nieces and 5 nephews. My Sister has one on the way.

I used some blue card stock and made it into a top folding card. I stamped the mobile image from Lawn Fawn Plus One stamp set and coloured it in using Promarkers using masculine colours like blue and green etc.

I thought the image on its own seemed too small so I got out some marabou feathers. I got out a pale blue background paper and stuck the feathers using glue. I then stuck the mobile image over the marabou feathers using foam squares to make the mobile come away from the backing paper. It also made the feather look as though they were part of the mobile.

I used pattered scissors around the edges and stuck the backing paper down with some foam adhesive and for the sentiment I used white card stock and blue embossing powder. Using patterned scissors on the corners made it look more interesting to look at. I stamped and coloured the stars from the Plus One stamp set and stuck them to the edges of the sentiment. I used a blue gel pen around the edges being careful when moving the marabou feathers.

I really enjoyed making this card. although the marabou feathers made it a bit fiddly and the glue etc. It was worth it to see the outcome of this card.

Bun In The Oven Card

Welcome To My Blog,

I think I've gone a bit baby crazy. When you have cute stamps like these you cannot help yourself. I suppose there will be a whole week of baby cards.

You never hear of just one couple having a baby it's usually about four. Last year I think there were about seven girls I knew that were having babies. It's a good idea to stock up so you don't get overwhelmed by making baby cards.

I decided to make a feminine card so I used pink card stock. I stamped my image of a stove and then stamped a bun inside. I think this is just so cute and colouring the stove in pale pink and lilac with my Promarkers just made it even cuter.

I used some purple backing paper and used some patterned scissors along the edges. I attached my image using foam adhesive and glued it to the card. For the sentiment I used Pink embossing powder straight onto the pink card stock. I didn't use backing paper as the one i already had made the card look a bit busy.

I adhered two light pink and two dark pink gems to opposite corners and used a purple gel pen to make dash lines along the edge of the card.

Baby on the way Card.

Welcome To My Blog,

Thank you for visiting. Today I'm sharing a very special card. It's very exciting hearing some good news whether it be their first or even seventh child. A baby on the way is a very happy time.

I made today's card unisex so if you only knew the father it'll still be a good card card to give to a male.

I Stamped my image from Lawn Fawn Plus One stamp set. I love this stamp set as it's only one you'll ever need as it has everything for new babies. From on the way to Boy or Girl.

I coloured my image using Promarkers. Yellow is a very unisex colour so you can use it when you don't know the gender of the baby. I cut the edges using some patterned scissors and coloured the edges using Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I Stamped the sentiment using the same distress ink straight onto the backing paper. I cut the edges using the same patterned scissors and the same ink colour and stuck them down using foam adhesive. I thought it still looked a little bare so I put some gold gems in the corners and used what I had left on my ink blending tool around the edges of my card stock.

I think the gold and yellow color combination works really well together and I'm happy with the outcome. It's a very easy card to make if you have very little time and still looks stylish.

Feel free to leave a comment I'm happy to hear from you.
