A Boy Card

 Hello Crafter's,

Today I'm sharing a dinosaur card. I gave this card to my father in law for his birthday. I used the dragon from Newton's Nook magical dreams stamp set and Newtons Nook Prehistoric pals stamp set.

I coloured the images in with Promarkers. I used bright colours to make up for the bare background because I stuck them straight onto the card stock. I used no background stamps or backing paper. I cut thin strips of card and used them as the ground. so the dinosaur or dragon wouldn't look as though they were floating

I used an old sentiment from my stash. I cant remember where I got them from.  

I like this simple card because you can give it to a male. There is nothing on it that's feminine. A guy will be happy enough with a card like this. Most guys don't like embellishments on their cards. A card like this can be used for a guy at any age. A boy who likes dinosaurs or a man in his seventies. Giving them a dinosaur card is like a pun "as old as a dinosaur" comes to mind. It doesn't matter whether they get it or not as it's still a cute card and appreciated.

Another Autumn Card

Hello and welcome to my blog today,

Today I'm sharing a card with you using some autumn coloured distress inks. when I think of autumn colours I generally think of browns, oranges, dark green and dark reds. 

I used my distress inks straight on the card. I didn't blend them in as I wanted each colour to stand out. i love seeing the colour pop out from the card. To add a little detail I used a background stamp with some clear embossing powder. I don't have a leaf background stamp so I chose one from my collection. I thought it worked rather well. 

I used my Lawn Fawn Critters in the woods stamp set and coloured the fox and hedgehog with my promarkers. I cut them out and went over the edges with my memento tuxedo black duo pen. I used a sentiment from Papersmooches autumn stamp set. I used some wow copper embossing powder. I used the brown distress ink around the edges of the sentiment then stuck in on using foam pads. I used my Fiskars corner cutter and stuck it on the orange card.

Autumn Card

 Hello and welcome to my blog today,

I have not written a new blog post for a while. I think it may have been a couple of months now. Time does fly when when life gets in the way. I'm now doing extra hours in work. Being at home the same time as my boyfriend I've been spending time with him. My Shifts were always in the evenings at my last job so we never got to spend much time together. It's been brilliant finally having to spend more time with him.


 My sister had her fourth baby on the kitchen floor. They're both fine and her boyfriend actually delivered the baby because the birth was so quick. They didn't even wake my niece who was asleep upstairs. Well done I say. So it was a nice surprise for her the next morning when her new brother had arrived.

 My mother also moved and settled in well. She made friends with neighbours and my sister is on a fitness regime. I'm so proud of her, she finished a 10k run on Sunday in 1 hour and 14 mins. well done to her. I probably wouldn't even make 10k to be honest I'm not a good runner. 

Anyway enough about me and let me share a card I made with an autumn theme. I made this card using Lawn Fawn critters in the woods and the tree from Critters in the burbs. The clouds I got from Paper smooches bitty bungalows stamp set. I colored my images with promarkers and stuck them to some card. I covered the card with vintage photo distress ink. I put the pad straight on the card to give it a more prominant colour. I used glossy accents to stick the images to the card. It's a really good glue and very handy to use when it's alsready on the desk.

I made the scene hoping not to overcrowd the card. i put some green glitter glue on the edge of of the tree, just to give it a little extra texture. The sentiment is from an old stamp set i had from personal impressions. i put it straight on to the card using memento tuxedo black ink. if i had used another bit of card i think it would be too over crowded and it would look a mess.

I used some pale brown card stock as my base and stuck on the scene with some foam pads. I love making scenes with my stamped images and using different stamp sets together. It's a useful way to mix up your stamp sets and to get various cards out of them.
