Holiday Card 2014 Number 4

 Hello Fellow Cardmarkers,

Thank you for stopping by today. I have two holiday cards to share with you.

The first card was actually an experiment. I had a rough idea how it would look like, but I just went with the flow with it. I love making cards this waym just sitting at my table and letting the inspiration flow.

I started by stamping my reindeer image from Lawn Fawn critters in the snow. I coloured it in with promarkers. I got my white card stock and used tumbled glass distress ink pad to add some colour. I used a blending tool and went around the edges of the paper leaving it lighter in the middle.

I used my promarkers to make the roof and I added some stickles to add a bit of sparkle. I used the snowflakes from the critters in the snow stamp set and added them to the sky using brilliance platinum planet and moonlight white ink pad.

I went around the edges of the reindeer with my memento duo pen to give it a more finished look. I stuck the reindeer down using some foam squares.

For the base I used some black card stock. I stuck my scene down using some more foam squares. I love how this card turned out. I felt it didn't really need a sentiment and it might spoil the scene.

For the second card I stamped the other critters from the same stamp set and coloured them in using promarkers. I used my memento tuxedo black duo pen around the edges.

For the background I got some copy paper and cut the edge into a wavy line to make it look like mountains. I put it on some white card stock and used tumbled glass distress ink for the sky. I pulled the copy paper away and really liked the result. I dried the ink using my heat tool.

I arranged the critters on the card and stuck them down using some glossy accents. Glossy accents is a brilliant glue and what I already had on my desk when I was making this card.

I thought having the sitting penguin sitting on the igloo was really cute. I added some Stickles to the igloo to make it look a little more like snow and to give the card a little texture.

For the sentiment I used a stamp from the critters in the snow and stamped it using Versamark ink. I used some white embossing powder I don't know which company makes this particular embossing powder as I bought it a couple of years ago when I first started heat embossing. It works really well and I'm really impressed with the results.

I stuck the scene on some cream card stock from The Papermill with some foam squares. I really like this card because its not in your face Christmassy like most cards we see, its just a nice scene of critters in the snow. This card would be perfect for anyone who doesn't take Christmas too serious. there's one or two in my family who don't get over excited about Christmas. If you changed the sentiment it would even make a brilliant winter card. There are a few birthdays in my family that are in the winter so it would be perfect for wither of them.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Please leave a comment below and have an amazing day.

Love
