Holiday Card 2014 Number 1

Hello Everyone,

I have finally made some cards to share with you guys. Its already December and I'm well behind on my holiday crafting.

I have finally finished my shopping though, all my nieces and nephews's presents were bought ages ago. My brothers and sisters pressies were all done last month. David however still hasn't told me everything he wants and it's starting to annoy me. I usually like to have all my shopping done before December. Most of my shopping is done on the web you can get some really good deals. I love shopping on line, a warning however it does get a little addictive lol.

Well anyway back to the cards. Today I decided to make three cards using the same techniques but changed the colour scheme. The first card I stamped a penguin image coloured his hat in blue and his tummy in grey and his beak in orange. I used my Xcut die to cut out the image. I used festive berries distress ink around the edges of my image. I got a pack of ten tags from home bargains and coloured the smooth side in tumbled glass distress ink. I went over the edges of the tag with Archival Brilliance platinum planet ink pad.Ii love this ink pad and I've have not stopped using it lately.

I used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn and stamped it in platinum planet. It didn't take like I wanted so I used a silver gel pen to fill in where the ink didn't reach. I then added colour the the edges of my sentiment using the same coloured ink pad.

I used green and white twine from hobby craft and wrapped it around the card four times. I tied a bow and stuck it down using a glue dot from stix2.

For the second card I had a Santa image and coloured the image in red and used tumbled glass distress ink on the edges. I made the tag red using festive berries distress ink. I love this red and using the ink pad straight on the tag gave it an awesome red. I used brilliance platinum planet ink pad around the edges of the tag and stuck it on the card.

For the sentiment I cut it in a ribbon shape on one side but I did the same sentiment in the same way for the first card.

The only similarity between these cards is i used the same colored twine from hobby craft. but i only put it round three time this time and instead of a bow i made it into a tie.

The third card is a more neutral card. First of all I used a snow man image and coloured him in purples and oranges. I added brilliance ink pad to the edges and I used the rough side of the tag and used platinum planet ink pad straight on the tag. I used the same sentiment on white card. The twine I used was white and grey and like the first card i put it round four time and tied it with a bow.

If I could do something different to these card I would probably add a background stamp the the card base. to give it a little something extra.

I love how these cards turned out and would be perfect if you are mass producing as they're so easy to make. You could give them to family and because there are different versions you wouldn't feel as if you've given the same card to everyone.
