Hello Crafty Friends,
Today I am delighted to say that I have finally found the time to share my crafting space with you guys.
I am so happier in my own corner than on the table in the living room. Having your own space is so much better than dragging out your supplies, filling the table and then having to put it all away again. Now I have my own space I find card making so much easier and even more fun. I don't feel the dread of pulling out my drawers and rummaging through boxes anymore.
I got my desk from Ikea for £30. It's just big enough for me and was cheap too. When you're on a budget good quality and low prices are a must. You can never go wrong with Ikea and a boyfriend to help put it together for you. Thank You Dave xx. On my desk is a X-cut glass cutting mat, my storage pots, my Sizzix big shot machine and some A4 plastic boxes. which I use to store cards I've made and other bits.
The colour drawers I got a while ago in Hobby Craft when they were on offer. It costs £49.00 now but are worth it if your short on space. They're brilliant I love the rainbow colours as it brightens up the room. I keep most of my supplies in these drawers.
My Letreset Promarkers storage is brilliant. I got the idea off the Internet from a blogger at Paulaholifieldscrafts it wasn't thought of from her she got the idea from Camilla from Norway. I have two DVD racks with empty DVD cases I got from E-bay. I used the colour chart on the back of the Promarker set to put the colours in the right order on a spread sheet. It took a few tries to get the measurements right but I got there in the end. I also coloured and put the name of every pen on the spread sheet and it makes it so much easier to see the colours.
I also bought some circle stickers and coloured them in and stuck them to the end of the pen makes it even easier to see where the pens belong and to choose a colour from the rack. This storage solution is amazing and whoever thought of it first is a genius. I love that you can see all the colours in front of you and its so easy to see which colours go with which for blending techniques. I used to keep them in clear boxes and it was a pain trying to find the right colour I wanted
I used up the DVD for my other inks. My distress ink collection seems to be growing almost as fast as my stamp collection. I have labelled some of them but not all yet to make it easier to find on the shelf. My ink pads are all stored upside down. I remember reading somewhere that it prolongs the life of the pad. I have my blending tools and foam underneath. On top of the DVD rack I decided to keep my glossy accents, stickles and other ink pads.
On the wall I have My clear stamp storage. I got this idea off the lovely Britta Swiderski. I love her Blog and she inspires me. If I didn't know about her blog or watched her videos on you tube I probably would have lost interest in card making ages ago. Thanks Britta xx.
The stamps are hung by curtain clips from Ikea and they hang from a towel rail also from Ikea. If you haven't already guessed I had a shopping spree in Ikea. I also bought my Dave a bedside lamp while we were there so he had no excuse for not reading in bed. Trying to get him to read an actual book instead of surfing the net at night is harder than it sounds.
I can finally see how big my card making supplies have got, especially my clear stamps. I thought I would have at least one empty rail to add to. My collection will undoubtedly grow and I shall share more cards with you from my Crafting corner.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Feel free to leave a comment, all are welcome.
Love
Fiann xxx
